Dubai Police caught cross-dressing man through fake ID, court told

DUBAI // A cross-dressing man's fake ID card has landed him in court.

On January 4, MA, a 23-year-old Filipino man, was sitting in a car with his friend, SY, when police approached to ask for ID.

The patrol officer said in his testimony he noticed a clear difference between the defendant's features and those of the picture on the ID, and asked the couple to proceed to the police station where it was found the defendant was a man not a woman.

At the station, MA confessed he had been cross dressing for sometime before he found the ID of a woman who looked a bit like him in a taxi.

MA did not appear at the Dubai Criminal Court this morning to face charges of illegally obtaining the ID, using an official document that belonged to someone else and cross dressing.

The next hearing will be on March 3 to summon the defendant.
