Boy raped by game-centre worker, court told

DUBAI // A gaming hall attendant threw a 10-year-old boy to the ground and raped him, a court heard this morning.

FS, 25, Filipino, denied the charges in the Dubai Criminal Court of First Instance.

The boy told prosecutors and police that he was with his cousins in Mirdiff City Centre at the PlayStation Zone about 7pm on an evening in June.

FS, who works at the zone, offered them three free games, but the boy said he refused to accept them.

The boy said FS followed him to the bowling section and after talking to him for a short time, pulled him into a nearby room, lowered his trousers and raped him. He said in records it was the third time FS had assaulted him.

A forensics report confirmed the assault.

When he arrived home, the boy told his parents, who called police. His father, RF, told police his son told him he was afraid to tell anyone, as FS had lured him with free games.

RF said he met with FS's manager, AH, and told him about the incident. AH said FS confessed the incident to him.

"He told me he confessed because he didn't want police to assault him," AH said in records.

The next hearing will be on November 22.
