American acquitted of smuggling bullets into UAE
An American man has been cleared of trying to ship ammunition to the UAE. Customs found 18 type REM bullets packed beside furniture he was having moved to the country.
The man admitted the bullets belonged to him but said he did not know they were being shipped with his other belongings.
Abu Dhabi state security court heard he was in the UAE when the cargo company was coordinating with his employers to bring his belongings.
He said he sent them a list of the things he wanted brought here but the bullets were not on the list.
