Al Qaeda suspects deny fundraising

ABU DHABI// Three men accused of joining a Somali branch of Al Qaeda and collecting money for it denied the charges at the state security court today.

AH and AA, both Sudanese, and MM, a Somali, are accused of joining the Al Shabaab terrorist group and collecting money for it.

A fourth man, MA, also Sudanese, is accused of sheltering his cousin, AH, at his house despite knowing of his terrorist activities.

AH is the only suspect to have his own lawyer. Mohammed Al Khazraji offered to defend the other suspects when the court asked if a lawyer had to be arranged for them.

The case has been adjourned till March 26.
