'10,000 Tramadol tablets not mine', Dubai man tells court

DUBAI // A 65-year-old man denied a charge of drug dealing after he was arrested with 10,000 Tramadol tablets, the Dubai Criminal Court heard.

Prosecutors said that AA, Pakistani, who works as a cleaner, had been selling drugs. However he claimed the Tramadol, along with 492 tablets of another banned substance, belonged to another man.

AA came to the attention of Dubai police after officers arrested a Pakistani man, identified only as A, who said he bought drugs from AA.

Police made A, who was arrested following a tip off, arrange a meeting with AA.

The two met in the Naif area. AA arrived carrying a box. Police arrested both men and found a large amount of drugs in the box.

AA denied a charge of drug dealing. He will appear again in court on January 14.
