College to offer cultural degrees

ABU DHABI // A London college has joined Abu Dhabi Men's College (ADMC) to introduce a master's degree in the skills needed for the emirate to become a cultural centre. Goldsmiths College, part of the University of London, will help ADMC develop the master's in cultural and creative industries that would be offered starting in September next year. The two-year course will train people to work for ministries, arts federations, agencies and consulting firms.

"This programme is going to be developing graduates who can fill these kinds of positions," said Prof Geoffrey Crossick, the warden of Goldsmiths College, who visited ADMC this week to sign a memorandum of understanding with Dr Tayeb Kamali, the vice chancellor of the Higher Colleges of Technology. Like the other branches of the Higher Colleges of Technology, ADMC is open to Emiratis only. dbardsley@thenational.ae
