Charities distribute food for Eid and Haj across the region

The UAE Red Crescent Authority (RCA) has distributed slaughtered animals to needy Syrian families and Palestinian refugees for Eid Al Adha. The project was undertaken with the assistance of the UAE embassy in Damascus.

Also marking the festival, the UAE's Haj mission has distributed 130,000 meals to pilgrims in Mecca. Dr Hamdan Musallam Al Mazroui, the chairman of the General Authority for Islamic Affairs and Endowments, thanked the country's leadership for the continuous support to the mission and in providing all means of comfort to the pilgrims.

Emirati volunteers also provided some Eid Al Adha joy for Somali children on the country's Kenyan border camps this week, as they organised entertainment, educational programmes and health checks.
