Centre to support and train doctoral students to be launched

A doctoral training centre will be established in Dubai to foster engagement between academia, industry and the Government.

The centre was announced yesterday following an agreement between the private University of Wollongong in Dubai and the National Research Foundation, an initiative of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.

Although doctoral studies are still in their infancy in the UAE, the centre hopes to steer students from universities across the country towards projects relevant to the UAE, as well as offer them training and support.
