Buses full of children collide

AJMAN // Fifteen children were taken to hospital yesterday when two school buses crashed into each other.

The accident happened as the buses were taking children home from nursery school. The were all taken to Sheikh Khalifa hospital in Ajman, where five were treated for minor injuries. One suffered an eye injury and was referred to a specialist eye clinic.

Also yesterday, in Umm Al Qawain, police rescued a driver who was trapped in his car after an accident involving a lorry.

MSM, 20, from Oman, crashed into the lorry that was parked by the side of the road in UAQ's industrial area at 9am.

Two passengers, both Emiratis, were also hurt. All three were taken to UAQ Hospital for treatment.

"Speeding and not paying attention was the main cause of the accident," said Capt Azam Sultan, director of traffic at Madina police station.
