British boy drowns while swimming with family in Sharjah

A nine-year-old British boy drowned yesterday while he was swimming with his family at Mamzar beach in Sharjah.

A team from the civil defence pronounced the youngster dead at the scene and police have begun an investigation at Buhairah police station.

It was the third drowning in the emirate in just over a week and police have called on anyone going to the beach to exercise extra caution while in the water.
