BlackBerry 10 was worth the wait, say UAE's Twitterati

The UAE’s Twitterati say BlackBerry 10 was worth the wait.

A survey of about 5,300 social-media users found only 2 per cent, or 107 people, disliked the phone.

The Z10 phone was launched in eight cities, including Dubai, on January 29. It will not be officially sold in the Emirates until Sunday.

The study, by Fisheye Analytics, found the touchscreen was discussed most widely among UAE users of sites such as Twitter and Facebook.

Others discussed screen sharing on BlackBerry Messenger and video chat.

The study found 55 per cent had “positive sentiment” towards the device, while 43 per cent were “neutral”.

“Sentiment of the UAE’s public on BlackBerry 10 was mostly positive, with some negative remarks such as that BB10 is late to the market and also about the inability to make free BBM voice calls once the phones are updated to the new software,” a research summary said.
