DUBAI // A British mother who faces up to three years in prison after admitting adultery is due to appear in court on June 2. Sally Antia, 43, and her unnamed lover, who denies the charges, have been in police custody for just under four weeks and have had their passports confiscated and their bail denied. They were arrested outside the Radisson Blu hotel at Deira Creek after her British husband, Vincent, 48, filed a police complaint, court documents showed. Divorce proceedings are believed to be under way.
Mrs Antia, from Liverpool, has been married for more than 14 years and living in Dubai for more than a decade. She is believed to have worked for a corporate entertainment company. An officer at Bur Dubai police station yesterday confirmed reports that a British media crew had breached regulations by taking pictures of Mrs Antia in prison. "We have a problem with her and the British media crew who came in, we told her and them that photography was not allowed as it was against the law, and they still took pictures," said a section head at the station.
