Addict's body dumped

DUBAI // Two men have been charged after dumping the body of an Emirati man, who had died of a heroin overdose, at a hospital car park. The two men, an Emirati and a Pakistani in their 20s, were charged with drug use and trying to conceal a crime after tests determined their friend had been dead for four hours before they left him at the hospital. Police said the two, identified only as A A and A B, said they had been injecting heroin with their friend, also in his 20s, at a house in Sharjah last Thursday when he collapsed and died.

Rather than call for help, the two drove his body to a Dubai hospital and left him in the car park, where he was found by a passer-by who called police. rabubaker@thenational.ae
