Abu Dhabi regulator shuts supermarket over food safety violations
The Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority shut down the Hani Supermarket and Bakery on Airport Road yesterday for repeated food safety violations.
Cockroaches and other insects were found in the shop, and inspectors noted there were not enough washbasins in the bakery.
Not enough workers were trained property in food safety, and food was not stored properly.
Sweets were being prepared while cleaning and maintenance were under way.
A shop employee said he did not know when the store would reopen.
