184 million passengers find expanded Dubai Metro is just the ticket
More than 184 million passengers have travelled on the Dubai Metro since it opened three years ago.
On this day in 2009, the Metro Red Line launched. It extends 52 kilometres and has 29 stations. Exactly two years later the Green Line was launched. It spans 23km and 18 stations.
The number of commuters using the Red Line until the end of August totalled 151,781,357, achieving 6 million passengers per month during the second half of this year.
Use of the Green Line until the end of August hit 32,592,310 passengers reaching 3 million passengers per month in July.
