13 prisoners take part in Quran recital contest


ABU DHABI // Thirteen inmates who memorised between one and three chapters of the Quran took part in a recitation contest at Al Falia Central Prison in Ras Al Khaimah on Tuesday.

Prisoners of various ages and nationalities competed in three categories during the one-day contest, which was organised by the Quran Sciences Institute of Ras Al Khaimah.

The winners of the 13th RAK Holy Quran Award will be honoured at a special ceremony in coming weeks, officials said.
