Nissan sets Leaf deadline

NEW YORK / // Nissan last week said it would launch its zero-emission Leaf electric car later this year, underlining that it would either sell the car and battery pack as a single unit or lease the battery separately. More than 6,500 charging ports will be set up in five US cities, including San Diego, Oregon, Seattle, Tennessee and Arizona. These stations will "allow vehicles to be recharged in minutes rather than hours", according to the company, and Leaf owners can programme their cars to charge whenever they like. Nissan says it's targeting a price in the range of other family sedans.
