Nairobi firm is loyal to Prius

NAIROBI // Despite a worldwide recall on 400,000 Toyota Prius hybrid cars, Eco Cabs, a Nairobi-based taxi firm, is remaining loyal to the popular environmentally friendly vehicle. The recall is because of possible problems with brakes on the Prius, but the Eco Cabs managing director, Janet Oben, says they will not return any of their fleet because no braking malfunctions have been reported by the drivers. Eco Cabs imported 11 of the cars from Japan a year ago and Oben says they started using Priuses to showcase green alternatives to Kenyan drivers.
