Trip tips: Sport and shopping

A rundown of some of the best travel deals and offers around.

Enjoy good value at home in Abu Dhabi

Book three nights' accommodation and receive a fourth complimentary night's stay at the yet-to-open Ritz-Carlton Abu Dhabi, Grand Canal. "Intrigue you" is the appropriately named opening offer from the eagerly anticipated Ritz-Carlton, the first to open in the capital, and it has almost been worth the wait. From January 1 to August 13 next year, a three-night stay will cost just US$270 (Dh992) per night, including breakfast, taxes and one more night on the house. Visit www.ritzcarlton.com for bookings and more information.

Book a little sport in Jackson Hole, US

On November 24, Amangani opens its ski-in and ski-out Ski Lounge marking the beginning of the winter season in the popular Wyoming valley resort of Jackson Hole. Book a seven-night "ski adventure" at the Amangani from US$4,550 (Dh16,713) per person, including a day of heli skiing or cat ski excursion with lunch, a 60-minute massage, a five-day lift pass, airport transfers and access to the Ski Lounge. Less experienced skiers can choose a guided back country skiing adventure on secluded terrain around Jackson Hole instead. The price is based on two people sharing a suite and is valid on stays from January 2 until April 7. Book now at www.amanresorts.com.

Spend the new year on the beach in Bali

Jimbaran Bay on the south-est coast of Bali is the location for a new Le Méridien resort with 75 guest rooms, 35 suites, four penthouses and villas, a saltwater pool, spa, kids' club, four restaurants and views of the Indian Ocean. The area is known for its white sandy beach and daily fish market, with small local restaurants setting up right on the beach every evening. Set to open on January 31, you can now book the hotel's "Discovery Offer" of US$265 (Dh973) per night for a double room, including breakfast, airport transfers and taxes. The deal is valid until June 30. To find out more, visit www.lemeridien.com/balijimbaran.

Look forward to a festive shopathon

The spate of luxury hotel openings shows no sign of abating in London with the Regent Street landmark Café Royal's latest reincarnation as a five-star hotel. Yet to officially open its doors, the hotel is already offering shopping-themed breaks from £320 (Dh1,877) per night, for stays from December 5 until December 22. This rate includes welcome drinks, breakfast, taxes and, most importantly, concessions at stores in the nearby Burlington Arcade and on Regent Street itself, one of the UK capital's most well-known retail thoroughfares. Book online at www.hotelcaferoyal.com.
