You’ve seen them all around Abu Dhabi, and were probably startled the ﬁrst time: those wooden ﬂagmen, dressed in overalls and hard hats and directing traﬀic by waving a red ﬂag – with the help of a slight breeze. To those brave, stoic avatawho replace the real men in these dangerous traﬀic situations, we salute you.
