WD-40 founder dies

SAN DIEGO // The man who has probably done more to help creaking motors than almost anybody else has died. John S Barry, who was the former CEO of the Rocket Chemicals, the company which made the engine lubricant known as WD-40, died in hospital of pulmonary fibrosis on July 3. Mr Barry was 84 and is survived by his wife, three children and four grandchildren. Under Mr Barry's stewardship, WD-40 was transformed from a little-known lube for military missiles into a worldwide brand sold in more than 160 countries.
