VW delays Roadster plans

LOS ANGELES // Volkswagen has put back plans to show its Roadster concept, a two-seater sports car to rival the Audi TT convertible, at the Los Angeles Auto Show later this month. Instead, the German manufacturer will unveil the concept at next year's Detroit show. The car shares a common aesthetic with the recently launched Scirocco coupé-hatchback. The mid-engined, rear-wheel drive Roadster has been given the go-ahead to enter production in 2010 and is expected to be made available in a coupé version as well as the convertible roadster.
