Manure plan wins grant

BELLINGHAM, WASHINGTON // A $500,000 (Dh1,836,420) grant has been given to researchers at Western Washington University for a project to turn dairy cow manure into fuel for three local buses that will have their engines converted. The university's Vehicle Research Institute has already started work on the project that turns the manure into a clean-burning biomethane fuel. According to the institute, Whatcom County, where the university is located, could produce enough biomethane to run every car, truck, bus and piece of farm machinery in the county.
