Mahindra takes on US
MUMBAI // While America's homegrown automakers are struggling, India's Mahindra & Mahindra has announced plans to release compact trucks and two SUV models in the US. Mahindra & Mahindra is one of the world's largest truck manufacturers and a strong player in India's SUV market. The compact truck will compete with Ford and Toyota and has been designed with the US market in mind. No final launch date has been announced but it is expected that the vehicles will go on sale sometime in 2010. The vehicles will be priced between US$20,000 (Dh73,400)-US$30,000 (Dh110,100).
