Free zone for car industry

RABAT, MOROCCO // City chiefs have announced plans to set up a free zone dedicated to the car industry. Kenitra Automotive City, a 344-hectare project, will host subcontractors specialising in vehicle parts, electronic equipment and other components and aim to attract foreign investment and further modernise Morocco's automotive industry. The project, which has been endorsed by the kIngdom's government, will be located between the city of Kenitra and Sidi Yahia, about 40km north-east of the capital Rabat and it is expected to create 15,000 new jobs by 2015.
