Best Buy plans to sell e-bikes

Best Buy, the US consumer electronics chain, will start selling electric motorcycles in some of its shops in May, says Craig Bramscher, the company's CEO. The Brammo Enertia, built in Ashland, Oregon, and expected to cost around $12,000 (Dh44,000), will be sold at five shops, says Bramscher. He expects that, eventually, all 1,200 US Best Buy outlets, as well as some of its 1,500 European and 270 Chinese shops will also carry the bikes. Parent company Best Buy Venture Capital had invested US$10 million (Dh36.73m) in Brammo in Sept, with Bramscher adding another US$2 m (Dh7.35m) himself. The Enertia has a top speed of 85 kilometres per hour and a range of about 70 km.
