Arabic navigation will be standard in new BMWs here

DUBAI // Many of the navigational, communications and entertainment functions available in new cars are offered in multiple languages, but rarely is Arabic among them. However, BMW has launched the Arabic language iDrive system, an industry first for such systems, and it will be available for customers in the Middle East from early May. This system will become part of the standard equipment for most BMWs on sale in the region. The system has a 10.2-inch display screen for such functions as radio/CD operation, telecommunications and satellite navigation. "This project has been a few years in the making and we have invested a considerable amount into research and development, which proves our ongoing commitment to servicing our Arabic language customers," says Hamid Haqparwar, manager of product and price for BMW Group Middle East.
