Dr Bronner's Magic Soaps It's not often we get on our soapbox about, well, soap. But when it comes to Dr Bronner's Magic Soaps, it makes us want to holler from the rooftop. We usually stockpile this stuff on trips to the States, but we've just spotted them in Organic Foods & Café, Dubai Mall. They are entirely natural and certified organic, with a combination of organic extra virgin coconut, olive, jojoba and hemp oils, together with pure essential oils, and even though the texture is on the runny side, the formulas leave soft skin and a fantastic aroma behind. Check out the peppermint, almond or lavender varieties. Read the labels when you get bored in the bath: the philosophical rantings and 18 suggested uses are eye-opening.

From Dh7, Organic Foods & Café, Dubai Mall Photo Finish Foundation Primers Among beauty writers and industry insiders, the multifunctional Smashbox primer has become a modern classic. There's one for everyone, too. Whether your skin is too red, too sallow, too pale, too blotchy or too crinkly, there's a bottle that will help correct, smooth and soften, then get down to doing a great job as a primer, creating a velvety soft canvas to help keep make-up in place all day long. Our favourite is the one with SPF15 and a potent mix of antioxidants and peptides to keep us as far from imperfection as possible.

Zuma bans cigar smoking

Zuma, the high-end modern Japanese restaurant concept, has banned cigar smoking in its Dubai location. The move follows the ban on cigar smoking in its bar and lounge areas during lunchtime service that was introduced in April last year and the Dubai Government’s anti-tobacco law that came into force in January.
