If there's one room in the house where order pays off, it's the kitchen. And getting organised can be as simple as reassessing your storage options and making the most of the space you have.
Start with a clearout - get rid of broken or chipped dishes and glasses and stray lids. Next, think about how you can maximise on dead space. Wall or ceiling racks are affordable and easy to come by, and if arranged nicely, can turn your pots, pans, spice collection or favourite tea set into a design feature.
Magnetic knife strips are another great way to clear space in your drawers. If you're feeling a little more daring, why not cover a wall near your cooker with a magnetic splashback and attach knives to that?
Create a junk drawer - but use a divider to keep it in order. Keep spices tidy by placing them on a tiered rack in one of your drawers, which will hold them at an angle and allow you to read the labels easily.
Attach an empty, rectangular tissue box to the back of a cupboard door to create a convenient holder for plastic bags or small rags. And then store all of your take-away menus, user manuals and shopping lists in a ziplock bag, which can be hung on a hook on the inside of one of your cupboard doors.
