Home Shopping: Add some country chic with From The Wilde

If you're looking for accessories that are flora and fauna related, From The Wilde is the website for you. The quirky online boutique sells carefully selected handmade home items from Canada, Australia, America and the UK.

Billed as a shop for people "with a love of the country and the coast", it operates with the idea that even though you might live in a high-rise block of flats in Abu Dhabi, you can bring a rural, rustic flavour to your home by choosing a few handmade products from the designers, artists and illustrators represented.

There are a few boring-but-country-style lavender hearts lurking hither and thither, but most of the buys are refreshingly interesting and contemporary. The website itself is a bit like a fairy tale forest, all creeping vines, little rabbits and magical fonts. The collection is certainly eclectic; it's the sort of shop you have to visit regularly to spot interesting new finds.

I'm a sucker for paper art, so the elegant laser-cut phrases by Kyleigh's Papercuts are my first port of call. There's a lot here for the romantic interest in your life, plus the fun Wizard of Oz design with the slogan 'There's no place like home'.

I like the new collection by A Farmer's Daughter, too. All the products feature farmyard animals or butcher's diagrams of meat cuts, which would look fabulous in a kitchen. There are matching mugs and aprons, too.

Finally, don't miss the lovely lampshades from Joel Dewberry - all tree silhouettes against 1950s-inspired colours - or the huge assortment of cute cushions on offer. There are so many lovely buys here, it's hard not to go a bit wilde with your credit card.
