A novel dining experience from Detroit will be staged in Dubai from tomorrow until Saturday. Brought to town by Rolling Stone Middle East and Baker & Spice, the popular pop-up restaurant Guns + Butter is taking bookings at the eatery’s Downtown Dubai location.
Seats are limited, with just 28 available on each of the four nights. More than 90 per cent of the Dh500 tickets have already been snapped up.
The draw is chef Craig Lieckfelt, who stormed onto the US foodie scene last year, travelling to India and Singapore with a team to offer his dinners. The Dubai event offers a six-course “local and ethical” meal.
“The nomadic format means we’re not bound to one country. With any new city the first thing we do is hit the markets and talk to local farmers. We always find out what’s in season before developing our product-driven menu,” says Lieckfelt
Highlights from this evening’s menu include seafood broth and butter-poached prawn tails, courtesy of Dubai Fish Market, to be followed by a medley of organic, local vegetables including squash and sweet tomatoes.
“I’ve also discovered labneh here and it blew me away,” says Lieckfelt. “I like to use a lot of yogurt in my cooking and I’m very excited to be using it in my lamb dish.”
