On February 1 and 2, the chocolatier Marie-Jean Auboine will be flying to Dubai from Las Vegas to host a Chocolate Afternoon Tea at Madinat Jumeirah, featuring handmade truffles, bon bons and cakes. Priced at Dh150 per person, the event takes place at Al Fayrooz Lobby Lounge in Al Qasr on the first day and at Al Samar Lounge in the lobby of Mina A’Salam on the second.
Second Ripe market
Ripe farmers’ market launches in a second location in Dubai this Friday. The market is held from 9am to 1pm at Le Gourmet in Jumeirah 1. New chef at Le Méridien
Le Méridien Abu Dhabi has a new executive chef. Patrick van Velzen has worked all over the world, including a stint with Joël Robuchon. Arriving in Abu Dhabi from Greece, the 43-year-old chef has a passion for European, Japanese and Indian food. His signature dish? Crispy-fried scallops with caviar.
