Jones the Grocer has launched a catering service for Abu Dhabi and Dubai. The menus, which can be tailored to individual needs, are likely to feature signature sandwiches, a selection of cheese and antipasti deli items, as well as dessert platters. BICE begins brunch service

BICE at the Hilton Dubai Jumeirah has long been a city favourite, but it’s only now that the restaurant has started to serve brunch. The meal comprises four courses of Italian classics, including calamari fritti and carpaccio alla Veneziana. Prices start as Dh285 per person and the brunch will run every Friday from October 5. Kocchar to open Dubai restaurant

Good news for fans of the chef Atul Kochhar. Having previously acted as a menu consultant for the Dubai restaurant Zafran, the Michelin-starred chef – renowned for his modern take on traditional Indian dishes – is set to launch his own restaurant, Rang Mahal, at the soon-to-open J W Marriott Marquis Dubai on Sheikh Zayed Road.

Barbasso to entertain

The chef Pasqualino Barbasso is known as a pizza acrobat able to twirl that dough with unusual dexterity. Theme dining at The Palace

The Palace Downtown Dubai is celebrating its fifth birthday in October and is upping the ante with some themed dinners.
