Fashion briefs: Yves Saint Laurent to change its brand, but keep logo

Plus Lana Del Rey to model for H&M, the Duchess of Cambridge's annual wardrobe expenditure, and JW Anderson teams with TopShop.

YSL without Yves?

The French fashion house Yves Saint Laurent, now headed by Hedi Slimane, announced that it will be dropping the Yves from its name and will be rebranded as Saint Laurent Paris, although the iconic YSL logo is set to remain. The news upset fashionistas worldwide. "I'm still calling it YSL," tweeted the supermodel Jenny Shimizu. "Whatever."

Lana Del Rey to model for H&M

The musician Elizabeth Woolridge Grant, better known as Lana Del Rey, is said to be shooting a new campaign for the Swedish retailer H&M. The 26-year-old American alternative singer, who already has a Mulberry bag named after her, was signed up by Next Models in January, joining Alexa Chung and Alice Dellal on the agency's books.

The Duchess' new clothes

For the first time since the royal wedding, Prince Charles is due to reveal his financial accounts. Will it include the 35,000 (Dh200,000) that Catherine, the Duchess of Cambridge has reportedly spent on her clothes this year? The amount is only 9,000 behind what Prince William takes home as an annual salary as a RAF search-and-rescue pilot.

JW Anderson teams with Topshop

Topshop has revealed it will work with the 29-year-old designer JW Anderson this September. The collaboration with fashion's latest breakout star will include jersey, denim, knitwear and outerwear. Due to Anderson's almost cult following in the industry, the collection is expected to become Topshop's fastest-selling collaboration.
