A biopic about the 1970s American teenage girl rock band, which included Joan Jett, who found fame in the US and Japan with hits such as Cherry Bomb. 

The film certainly doesn’t lack authenticity - it is based on a book by original singer Cherie Currie. 

Despite leading roles for Dakota Fanning and Kristen Stewart, the movie lacks a bit of the sparkle and fight which made the group such a smash hit 35 years ago, but that’s due to the script rather than either the acting or the music.
