Film
Jul 22, 2011
Head to the New York Institute of Abu Dhabi’s downtown campus to watch two Turkish films, 10 to 11 and Sapak. The event is the second part in a three-part series highlighting some of the most notable inclusions in previous editions of the Abu Dhabi Film Festival. In 10 to 11 the director Pelin Esmer tells the story of her Uncle Mithat (pictured), a passionate collector who is forced to outsource his habit to the doorman of his building because of his failing health. Sapak is a short film about the causality of violence within a family, directed by Firat Mançuhan. Keep an eye out for part three in the Summer Screenings series on August 20, which will feature two films relating to the Egyptian capital of Cairo.
