Rango

A tiny lizard who tells a lie finds himself in hot water in this eagerly anticipated Western of sorts. Johnny Depp, Isla Fisher, Abigail Breslin, Bill Nighy and Ray Winstone lend star power providing the voices; Depp as Rango teaming up once again with the Pirates of the Caribbean director, Gore Verbinski. Critics have been respectfully quiet until the film’s release today, but all indications are that this will be fantastic looking animation to be enjoyed by adults almost as much as children. Depp had this to say about the target audience in an interview with the Chicago Sun-Times: “Kids aren’t sullied by intellectual expectations. It’s just a very pure sort of response to the work... Kids will also always tell you the truth if you ask if they like a character. There is no mincing words.”
