We all love monsters, toys and aliens..but owls? This animated adventure cost US$80m (Dh293) and is likely to be the first of a trilogy loosely based on the Guardians of Ga’Hoole series by Kathryn Lasky. 

Jim Sturgess is the voice of Soren, a young barn owl who literally falls into an adventure he may not be ready for. 

One bonus of it being in 3D is that you can truly appreciate it when they rotate their heads round 360 degrees.
