Watch two films by Ousmane Sembène: Black Girl (Le Noire de ...), which explores the inner thoughts of Diouana, a young woman who leaves independent Sénégal for work in the former colonial métropole of France, and the short, Borom sarret, focusing on the limitations of movement between neighbourhoods in Dakar.
