Bridesmaids

Actress Kristen Wiig (Knocked Up, MacGruber) co-wrote the script for Bridesmaids with Annie Mumolo, a member of the US comedy troupe The Groundlings, of which Wiig is a notable alumni. There is no shortage of raucous humour in a story that is ultimately about friendship, as Annie (Wiig) struggles to fulfil her duties as the maid of honour for her best friend Lillian (Maya Rudolph). Annie is not in a good place: her business went bust and she’s broke, she is yet to find a decent man and her flatmates are very odd. She’s also afraid of losing her standing as Lillian’s best friend to the prettier and more successful Helen (Rose Byrne). Directed by Judd Apatow (Knocked Up, The 40-Year-Old Virgin).
