The Dawn of History: Revealing the Ancient Past of Abu Dhabi

This exhibition is a joint effort by the Abu Dhabi Authority for Culture and Heritage and Denmark’s Moesgård Museum. 

It focuses on the historic excavation by Danish archaeologists in Abu Dhabi between 1958 and 1972, both on the island of Umm al Nar and in and around Al Ain. 

The findings in Umm al Nar were astonishing, with evidence found of civilisations dating back 5,000 years. 

The exhibition is intended to strengthen Emirati identity as well as inform visitors of the country’s rich history.
