Construction work on what could be the tallest tower in Jumeirah Beach Walk has started after Emaar appointed Middle East Foundation Group as enabling works contractor for its The Address Residences Jumeirah Resort + Spa development.

The 255,000-square-metre, 74-storey two-tower development, which will be Emaar’s first beachfront hotel project in Dubai, is to be built on the last available land plot for development on Jumeirah Beach Walk.

The foundation work will feature 22 kilometres of bored piling. More than 222,000 cubic metres of earth will be excavated for the three basement levels.

The development will be made up of apartments, serviced apartments and a 183-room hotel. It will include 100 metres of beachfront looking out on to Meraas Holding’s Bluewaters Island and the Ain Dubai big wheel. It will be housed on a site next to The Beach development at JBR, and will have a direct link to Sheikh Zayed Road.

In September Emaar said it expected the project to be completed by 2020.
