The roar of a Ferrari engine as a ring tone on Acer's latest limited-edition smartphone is likely to attract many a racing fan in the UAE.
The Liquidmini Ferrari smartphone, which features Ferrari's prancing horse prominently on the back, runs on Android's latest mobile phone operating system, Gingerbread 2.3.
Acer has not announced a release date and price for the phone, but considering that it is a limited-edition device, Ferrari fans might have to fork out a lot of cash for it.
The phone will come with applications for YouTube videos, streaming music from Aupeo internet radio and Google Maps among others.
Users of the phone can also download additional apps from the Android Market, which has 250,000 available applications.
And Ferrari fans who want the latest Ferrari news can use Acer's Social Jogger, which allows them to access Ferrari's Facebook page and Twitter feed.
In addition, the phone has exclusive preloaded wallpapers, pictures and videos of the super car.
On the technical side, the Lioquidmini Ferrari will have Qualcomm MSM7227-1 chip set and a dedicated Adreno 200 graphics processor, which means the device will deliver faster graphics performance than the average phone available on the market.
Its 5-megapixel rear camera also has 720p video recording capability. The phone will come with 8 gigabytes of internal memory, enough space to save photos and videos captured with the camera.
