Al Mansouri: 'We have a commitment from everyone in the country'

Sultan al Mansouri, Minister of the Economy, this morning elaborated on the Abu Dhabi Government's decision to offer Dubai World a US$10 billion (Dh36.7bn) rescue package. "They are actually paying for what they have to, they are honouring that," he said. Mr al Mansouri said the package provided an indication of how the country was structuring its economy and moving forward. Mr al Mansouri made his comments in a speech at the ATC Global Middle East Conference in Abu Dhabi.

"We have a commitment from everyone in the country. The support and leadership drive is for the whole of the UAE. Any challenge that comes to the UAE economy, the leadership is very clear about how to work it out. We leave it to them and they will conduct the right thing."
