Abu Dhabi aviation firm lands deal with Turkish airline

Abu Dhabi Aircraft Technologies (ADAT), the aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) provider, has signed new long term agreements with Onur Air of Turkey, it said yesterday.

ADAT will exclusively maintain Onur Air's General Electric engines installed on the Airbus A300 fleet for three years. The company has also signed an exclusive five year maintenance deal for Honeywell auxiliary power units on the Onur A330s.

A third element of the deal is for ADAT to repair and maintain Onur Air's A330 Rolls Royce Trent 700 engines for five years.

"These agreements add to a great working relationship that has developed over recent years due to the range of maintenance initiatives between ADAT and Onur Air. These agreements are important to a partnership that is growing from strength to strength because both companies share a commitment to the highest quality and total safety," said Jeremy Chan, the chief executive of ADAT.

ADAT is part of Mubadala Aerospace, a unit of the Abu Dhabi Government owned investment company, Mubadala Development. This week, Mubadala announced another aerospace subsidiary, Strata, was visited by Louis Gallois, the chief executive of European aerospace giant EADS. In addition, last week Strata named Badr al Olama as deputy chief executive.
