The Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan says he wants to buy a football team, which will be part of a league promoted by the All India Football Federation (AIFF).

“I am interested in buying stakes in the football league. If the football team happens then it is for Kolkata. We have limited resources but we are working towards it. Football team is 100 percent on cards,”Khan said.

The 48-year-old actor and the actress Juhi Chawla are the co-owners of the Kolkata Knight Riders cricket team, which will participate in the Indian Premier League 20-20 tournament scheduled in April and May.
