The Chelsea College of Art and Design is running a series of short interior design courses in Dubai over the month of May. Four separate courses will cover everything from choosing the right lighting, furniture and materials for your space to setting up your own interior design business. The courses will be run by practicing industry professionals from the UK and will take place at the Pullman Hotel.

The Chelsea College of Art and Design is offering one National reader a complimentary place on one of its courses.

The winner can choose between Decorating your Villa or Apartment, which is taking place from May 18 to 20, and Lighting Design for Interiors, which is taking place from May 29 to 31.

In order to enter the draw, all you have to do is send your best interior design or housekeeping tip to homes@thenational.ae by Tuesday May 8. Please make sure to specify which course you would like to attend. The winner will be announced in the May 11 edition of Weekend. In addition, all entrants will be eligible for a special discounted rate on any of Chelsea College's upcoming design courses.

The three-day Decorating Your Villa or Apartment course will be held by Sue McGregor, director of Interior Statements Ltd. The course will offer a step-by-step guide to transforming your interior, highlighting the wide range of furnishings and materials available and offering advice on how to incorporate these into a domestic space.

The three-day Lighting Design for Interiors course will offer an introduction to residential lighting for anyone who is new to the subject. The course will cover basic lighting principles, how to create a lighting survey, designing a simple scheme and communicating your idea to a lighting specialist. The course will be led by Debbie Blandford, who has 28 years experience as a design consultant.
