CFDA Awards 2013: best and worst dressed

The CFDA, Council of Fashion Designers of America, Awards took place last night at Alice Tully Hall, Lincoln Center in New York City.

This years winners included Proenza Schouler, Thom Browne, Phillip Lim, Pamela Love and Oscar De La Renta.

With some of our favourite designers, models and actresses out to celebrate fashion, here's a look at who we thought wore it best and worst.

Let us know your thoughts in the comment box below.

Snow white: Olivia Palermo paired her 1920s-inspired Dennis Basso dress perfectly with these booties, while Hailee Steinfeld shimmered in this youthful Suno crop top and skirt.

Kerry Washington's bright yellow, architectural Jason Wu gown complimented her complexion beautifully. Another rainbow-bright attendee was Miranda Kerr, wearing Proenza Schouler (who won the CFDA Womenswear Designer of The Year Award).

The shimmering duo of Karolina Kurkova and Cody Horn shone with designer Michael Kors while Nicole Richie looked 1990s minimal in Marc Jacobs.

Linda Evangelista's overly-ruffled Oscar De La Renta dress was unflattering from all angles, made only more awkward with her pointy toe shoes.

Juliette Lewis in Zac Posen looked washed out, and her staged dance with the designer made us cringe. On the other hand, Diane Von Furstenberg's black and white dress was age-inappropriate, especially when paired with those curls, fishnet tights and bowed shoes.

Sofia Vergara looked like she was about to bust out of this too-tight Herve Leroux gown- the choker necklace only served to make her look even more suffocated. Shockingly, Anna Wintour looked matronly in this fur-trimmed cropped jacket, floral skirt and slingback sandals, while her daughter Bee Shaffer looked too plain for the event.
