USA medical malpractice law is actually based upon the law of the 50 states. Laws were custom-tailored by the society's representatives, for the society, over time. There was no "adoption" through the wholesale copying of outside laws, although best practices may have been considered. Careful, considered and informed deliberation of any future UAE law or amendments are the requirements for this particular case.

In my humble opinion, there is now way this respected retired professional should ever have been treated this way. He should have been arrested, bailed, his Passport held, and he should have remained free until his Court Case reached the natural conclusion it finally did. There is a lesson to be learned there
