Being an HR Manager I became concerned years ago about this trend when I realized that when filling prescriptions the hospital pharmacies would fill using boxes and not the exact amount prescribed. In one case I received more than 2x the prescribed amount. I was to received 10 pills for 3 medicines and got a box of 20 and 2 boxes of 24 instead of only receiving 10 each. When will this over-selling be addressed to then save the insurance companies from paying for pills that will just be thrown out?
